Behshahr Table Lamp

A short ribbed cylinder of teal glass sitting on a black metal disc, lit from the inside like a small lantern.

The glass is pressed into fine vertical ribs, so the lamp inside is broken up into a row of bright and dark stripes rather than showing as a single hot filament. Teal is a deep blue green that goes almost grey when the lamp is off and warms to a soft petrol blue when it is on, which is a lot of colour for a lamp this size. It sits on a plain black painted disc with a short stem, so all the visual weight is in the glass. A cable runs out of the back with an in-line on/off switch on it.

Where it works: on a home office desk, a bedside table, or a shelf in a living room, as an accent rather than a working light.
