A ribbed champagne glass capsule on a black disc base, glowing amber when lit and honey coloured when not.

Champagne glass is a pale warm amber rather than a true gold, and it does something clear glass cannot: it holds colour even when the lamp is off, so in daylight the shade reads as a warm honey object on the table. The glass is pressed into deep vertical ribs and left open at the top, which lets the ribs pick up a bright highlight down each crest while the hollows stay darker. Under it sits a low black painted disc, and that hard black is the reason the glass looks as warm as it does. Mains powered, with the shade fitting onto the base at home.

Where it works: on a bedside table, a hallway console, or a shelf in a living room where a small warm glow is more useful than a reading light.
