Pink glass over black metal is the sharpest version of this lamp. The base is a low painted black disc that gives the glass a hard edge to sit on and stops the pink reading as sweet, while the shade itself is pressed into fine vertical ribs and tinted a pale blush that deepens where the glass curves in at the shoulder. The top is open, so the bulb is visible and its light comes out through the ribs as a row of vertical highlights. Mains powered, with the shade fitting onto the base when it arrives.

Where it works: on a bedside table, a bedroom chest, or a dressing table where a small piece of colour is the point.
