Baneh Pendant Light

A rounded ribbed glass pendant with flat shoulders, hung on a black flex, with the bulb clearly visible through the glass.

The shade is a squat, wide glass form with flattened top and bottom and a full rounded belly, pressed all the way round in fine vertical ribs. Clear glass hides nothing, so the ribs cut the lit bulb into a repeating pattern of bright and dark lines and cast a fine striped scatter of light across the ceiling and walls. Hung singly it reads as a small piece of glassware; hung in a row over a worktop it becomes a rhythm. The flex is black, which draws a clean line down from the ceiling instead of trying to disappear.

Where it works: in a row above a kitchen island, over a dining table, or singly in a hallway where the striped light is worth seeing.

Two things to settle before ordering: the actual diameter, and whether the metal collar is black or chrome. The supplier data says one thing and the photograph shows another.
