A fluted glass bell shade sits flush against a gold ceiling plate, softening a single bulb into an even, diffused glow that suits a low ceiling.

The glass is fluted in fine vertical ribs and left clear, so it catches and scatters light from the lamp inside rather than showing it as a single point. It is finished in a gold painted base that sits close to the ceiling, making it a genuine flush fitting rather than a pendant with a drop, well suited to hallways, landings and bedrooms where headroom is tight. Self-assembly is limited to fixing the ceiling plate; the fitting arrives with the glass shade ready to go.

Where it works: a low-ceiling hallway, a landing, or a bedroom ceiling where a hanging pendant would sit too close to head height.
