Minudasht Wall Light

A smoked grey glass cylinder with deep vertical flutes on a matt black arm, plugged in rather than wired in, for a softer and darker light than clear glass gives.

Smoked glass is tinted through its thickness, so the lamp inside reads as a warm shape rather than a hard filament, and the flutes stripe that glow into a run of soft vertical bands. Against the matt black collar, arm and round backplate the whole fitting stays quiet on the wall, which is what makes it work in a room you sit in rather than pass through. The cable runs from the backplate to an in-line switch and a plug, so it goes up with two screws and no electrician.

Where it works: a living room, or over a reading corner armchair where a lower, warmer light is the point. Plug in, so it also suits rented rooms.

Smoked glass cuts output noticeably. If you want to read under it, choose an LED at the brighter end rather than a low output filament lamp.

Returns 14 days from delivery, no reason required. If it arrives damaged we cover the return — transit damage is our problem.
