Urmia Table Lamp

A matt taupe lamp built from two simple solids: a tall rounded column and a domed shade sitting on a small ball above it.

Everything here is one colour and one texture, a flat chalky taupe over iron with no sheen at all, so the lamp reads as a piece of pottery until you pick it up. The column has a domed top rather than a flat one, the shade repeats that dome upside down, and a small sphere joins the two. Light escapes downward from the open bottom of the shade, which makes it a pooling lamp rather than a room light. The cable carries an in-line switch, so it is switched at the flex rather than at the base.

Where it works: a bedside table, a hallway console, or a home office desk where a soft downward pool of light is enough.

Bulb not included, so check the fitting's maximum rating before choosing a warm white LED for it.
