Kerman Desk Lamp

A small cone shade tilted forward on a single slim strut, standing on a looped tube of metal rather than a solid base.

The whole lamp is drawn from one thin tube: it loops round on the desk to form the foot, rises at an angle, and carries a little cone shade on a pivot at the top. Because the shade tips forward it throws light onto the page rather than into your eyes, and because it is metal rather than fabric the edge of that pool stays crisp. Everything is painted the same flat cream with no sheen, cable included at the pivot end, and it arrives ready to use.

Where it works: a home office desk, a hallway console, or a bedside table where a small directed light beats a big soft one.
