Eight alabaster shades ringed around a near black frame, lit from inside so the stone reads as warm against the dark metal. A high contrast version of the same idea as its brass sibling.

A plain circular frame in a near black finish carries eight alabaster shades, each held in a knurled collar and spaced evenly around the ring. The black metal all but disappears against a dark ceiling, which leaves eight glowing stone domes floating in a circle. Alabaster diffuses rather than transmits, so the light comes out soft and even and the natural veining in each shade shows through when it is lit. Suspension is by fine cables from a round canopy.

Where it works: over a dining room table, above a kitchen island, or in a wide hallway with the height to take a full ring.
