Gudarz Wall Light

A tall alabaster panel with rounded ends, pinned to the wall by two slim brass straps, glowing from behind and spilling light out of the top and bottom.

The panel is a single slab of alabaster, cut thin and polished, with the lamps set behind it so the whole face lights up and the natural veining reads like weather in the stone. Two polished brass straps cross the front and carry it, which is the only visible hardware. Light escapes past the top and bottom edges as well as through the face, so it washes the wall above and below rather than sitting as a flat lit rectangle. Unlit it is a pale vertical stone panel and reads as sculpture.

Where it works: in a bedroom beside the bed, in a hallway that needs height, or on a chimney breast in a living room.
