Shirin Pendant Light

An oval drum woven from fine seagrass strands, hung on two black cables over two lamps. Long enough to cover a kitchen island end to end.

The seagrass is strung vertically and packed tight around an oval frame, so the shade reads as a striped natural texture, lets a little light through the sides and sends the rest straight down through a diffuser. The frame and the twin cables are black steel, which stops the whole thing reading as beach house in a room that is not one. It covers the length of a table or a worktop rather than one spot beneath it, and two lamps instead of one means the light is even from end to end. The supplier states indoor use only.

Where it works: over a kitchen island or a dining table, where the length can line up with the worktop underneath it.

This is a natural fibre shade sitting close to two lamps. Fit cool running LEDs and nothing hotter.
