Masjed Pendant Light

A wide flat brass disc sits over a frosted acrylic column, so the light leaves the bottom of the column and bounces back off the disc above it.

The disc is the design. It is a plain burnished brass circle set horizontally above the shade, working as a reflector that catches upward light and throws it back down, and it gives the fitting a flat mid century profile from across a room. The column below is frosted acrylic with a square section, so it glows evenly along its length rather than showing the lamp inside. Burnished brass is a live finish that deepens with handling, and the supplier states the surface carries an oil varnish to slow that down. Suspension is a black fabric cable.

Where it works: in a run over a kitchen island, above a dining table, or singly as a bedside drop.

Acrylic yellows under heat, so fit an LED lamp rather than a halogen.
