Tahmineh Floor Lamp

A cast column that ripples in a slow wave from a flat round base up to a single opal globe balanced at the top, an object before it is even switched on.

The whole lamp is one continuous form. The stem is cast resin in a soft cream, moulded into a repeating wave so the profile shifts as you move around it, and it grows straight out of a flat disc base with no visible join. On top, a small opal globe sits slightly off centre like a held ball. The light it gives is deliberately minimal, so the shape is carrying the room, not the output. A toggle switch sits on the cable, and once it is positioned its weight keeps it standing firm.

Where it works: a living room corner as a sculptural object, a bedroom, or a hallway where it is seen rather than read by.
