Marivan Wall Light

A single band of rippled clear glass tiles curved around one lamp, pinned to a brass frame and sitting tight against the wall.

Four thick tiles of clear pressed glass, each with a wave running through it, are set in a shallow curve and held at every corner by a small brass pin. The curve wraps the lamp, so light leaves through the front and both sides and the wave in the glass breaks it up into soft moving highlights instead of a flat panel of brightness. It is a compact fitting with no projecting arm, which makes it usable in a corridor where a wall light with reach would be caught by a shoulder.

Where it works: down a hallway, as a bedside pair, or flanking a living room chimney breast.
