Marivan Table Lamp

A wide matt white cone resting on a fluted column base, both in the same chalky finish.

The base is a tapered column with soft vertical flutes running the full height, so the shape reads as folded fabric rather than turned metal even though it is iron throughout. The shade is a wide shallow cone, open at the top as well as the bottom, which lets a little light escape upward and stops the lamp from feeling closed in. Everything is finished in the same matt white with a fine grain, and there is no visible hardware apart from the small collar between the two parts. It is a broad lamp and needs a surface with some depth.

Where it works: a living room side table, a bedroom chest of drawers, or a hallway console with the depth to take a wide shade.

The shade is open at the top, so a bare cool white lamp will show. Use a warm lamp instead.
