A tall cone in aged antique brass, tapering the whole way from a wide foot to a slim neck, sold as a base for a shade of your own.
Aged brass is doing the work here. The surface carries a mottled, slightly green rather than yellow patina, so the taper picks up light in bands down its length instead of flashing like polished metal. It stands as tall as a side table plus a lamp, which is what makes it useful in a corner where there is no furniture to put a lamp on. It is a base only. A foot switch sits on the cable, and the holder takes a standard lamp fitting.
Where it works: a living room corner or a bedroom, once paired with a wide shade that balances the flare of the cone.
