A clear glass drum with fine vertical ribs, fixed flat to the ceiling on a chrome plate, with the lamp inside on full view through the glass.
The glass is clear rather than opal, and every rib acts as a small lens, so the lamp behind them breaks into a run of bright vertical lines that shifts as you move around the room. That is the effect worth buying it for, and it is also why the bulb matters: a decorative filament reads as the point of the fitting, a bare white capsule reads as an oversight. The drum sits on a chrome plate that fixes tight to the ceiling and takes almost no headroom.
Where it works: in a living room, over a dining room table, or in a bedroom where a flush fitting is needed.

One correction to the supplier's own description: clear ribbed glass does not diffuse light, it splits it. Choose a filament lamp you are happy to look at.
Delivery and returns
Dispatch in 1–2 working days. Delivery 3–6 working days, tracked throughout.
Returns 14 days from delivery, no reason required. If it arrives damaged we cover the return — transit damage is our problem.
What arrives in the box
The fitting, its mounting hardware and an installation sheet. No bulb — you choose the brightness and warmth, and the parcel ships lighter for it.
