A rounded ribbed glass pendant with a brushed gold collar, hung on a black flex with the bulb on show.

The shade is a wide, squat glass form with flattened top and bottom and a full rounded belly, pressed all the way round in fine vertical ribs. Clear glass means the lamp inside is part of the design rather than hidden by it: the ribs act as a row of small lenses, stretching the filament into a column of bright lines and throwing a fine striped scatter across the ceiling. The collar and ceiling plate are a brushed gold, warm against the colourless glass, and the flex is black, which draws a clean vertical line rather than trying to disappear on this simple flex suspension.

Where it works: in a row over a kitchen island, centred above a dining table, or singly over a hallway console.
