Andimeshk Table Lamp

A sage green ribbed glass capsule on a warm gold disc, the softest pairing in this family of lamps.

Green and gold is an old pairing and it works here because both are muted: the glass is a greyed sage rather than a bright green, and the base is a painted gold with a satin rather than mirror surface. Warm metal underneath lifts the bottom of the glass towards a deeper moss tone while the top stays cooler, so the shade has a gradient in it that a single colour photograph never quite shows. The ribs are pressed vertically all the way round in a ribbed cylinder shade, and the top is open, so the bulb is part of the picture and throws fine striped light onto the wall behind, all wired with an in-line switch and a UK plug.

Where it works: on a living room side table, a hallway console, or a bedroom chest in a room built around brass, timber and green.

The gold is painted rather than plated, so wipe it gently and keep it dry. A warm white bulb suits the pairing.
