The globes are mirrored smoke glass, so unlit they reflect the room back as a soft grey and hide the lamps inside them completely. Lit, the bulbs read as warm points through the tint rather than as bare points of light. The frame is matt black steel: a short rod from the ceiling plate down to two bars that cross at the centre, each arm ending in a globe set at its own height, so the group reads as a scattered constellation rather than a ring. It is a lot of fitting for a small room, so give it space to spread.

Where it works: over a dining room table, in a living room, or across a wide hallway where the span has room to breathe.
