Omidiyeh Wall Light

A single leaf shaped crystal hung on a fine wire from a polished gold disc, lit at the tip so it throws a soft pattern down the wall beneath it.

There is almost nothing to this fitting, which is the point of it. A round gold disc goes on the wall, a thin wire drops from the centre, and a clear crystal shaped like a pointed teardrop hangs at the end of it. The lamp sits at the bottom of the crystal, so the light passes up through the stone and back out again, and what reaches the wall is a soft ripple rather than a beam. Because the crystal moves slightly on its wire, the pattern is never completely still.

Where it works: as a bedside accent, along a hallway, or in a living room where a full wall light would be too much.
