Kazerun Semi Flush Ceiling Light

An organic ellipse of iridescent glass under a polished chrome canopy, shifting between green, violet and pink as you move around it.

The shade is blown into an irregular flattened oval, with ripples and hollows worked into the surface, then finished with an iridescent coating that splits reflected light into colour. Unlit it reads as a soft rainbow sheen over clear glass; lit, the colour concentrates around the ripples and the lamp inside shows straight through. That transparency means the lamp you choose is on display, so a filament globe is worth the extra. A polished chrome canopy and stem hold it a few centimetres clear of the ceiling, cool enough in tone to leave the glass doing all the colour work.

Where it works: a bedroom, a hallway, or a living room with a ceiling too low for a hanging shade.

Iridescence is a coating, not a colour, so it reads differently under daylight and under a warm lamp. Expect it to look calmer in the room than it does in a studio photograph.
