Hejir Pendant Light

A heavy alabaster ring carried in wide tan leather straps, riveted and studded in brass, with the ends of the ring curling past each other.

The straps are the difference here. They are wide, tan rather than dark, and fixed with brass rivets and studs that are left on show, which gives the fitting a made rather than manufactured look. The ring itself is turned from solid alabaster and cut thin at the underside so the light passes through and glows along the inner face, while the top surface stays matt and reads as stone. Veining runs right through the piece, so the pattern differs on every one and cannot be specified in advance.

Where it works: over a dining table, in a living room, or on a landing where it is seen from below and from the side.

Same caveat as its twin: nothing is measured, and the strap rating matters when the shade is solid stone.
