Ardavan Pendant Light

A metre wide circle of printed cloth folded once and hung on a fabric cable, big enough to sit over a long table as the only thing above it.

The shade is a single disc of printed polyester, folded once, with one corner turned back and the stitched edge left visible along the fold. At this wide span the fold reads properly: you see the shape change as you move around the table rather than a flat circle from every seat. Light spills up over the ceiling and filters down through the cloth, so it lands as a broad soft wash. The print is a mottled two tone in cream and sand that reads as texture from below. This is an accent light, so plan on other light in the room.

Where it works: over a long dining table, above a kitchen island, or in a living room with the ceiling height to carry a wide shade.
