Twelve opal glass globes carried on two levels of crossing arms around a slim gold column, filling a stairwell or a dining room without closing it in.

The frame is built as a central column with arms crossing it at two heights, and the globes sit alternately above and below the arms so the whole thing reads as a loose cloud of spheres rather than a rigid ring. Each shade is semi transparent opal glass over a lamp, which softens the source into an even glow, and twelve of them together give a light that is broad and low in contrast. The metal is coated in a polished gold that catches highlights along the arm edges, so unlit it still holds the eye.

Where it works: over a dining room table, in a stairwell where it can be seen from two floors, or in a living room with the ceiling height to take it.
