Twelve opal glass globes on two levels of crossing matt black arms, so the white spheres read as the only bright thing in the fitting and the frame all but vanishes.

Same structure as the gold version and a completely different object. A slim black column carries arms that cross at two heights, with the globes set alternately above and below them, and because the metal is matt black the eye reads twelve floating spheres rather than a frame with lamps on it. Each shade is semi transparent opal glass over a lamp, which hides the source and gives an even, low contrast light. The flex is black textile covered so the run down from the ceiling stays part of the fitting.

Where it works: over a dining room table, in a stairwell seen from two floors, or in a living room with the height to carry the frame.

The matt black frame reads much heavier than the gold one against a white ceiling. Worth knowing if your room is already dark.
