Three clear amber glass spheres, each on a short brushed gold stem, hung in a row so the lamps inside stay visible through the tint.

The glass is clear rather than opal and tinted a warm amber, so this is a fitting you look into rather than at. The lamp is meant to be seen, which makes the choice of bulb part of the design: a plain candle disappears, a small filament lamp reads as the point of the whole thing. Each sphere sits on a slim brushed metal stem in a matt gold, hung on a transparent flex so the run from the ceiling stays as invisible as possible. Across its span the three of them cover a dining table or an island without blocking the view across it.

Where it works: in a row over a dining table, along a kitchen island, or over a breakfast bar in a dining room.

The glass is clear, so whatever lamp you fit will be on show. A small amber filament candle suits it; a plain white lamp will look like an oversight.
