Hirmand Table Lamp

A fluted linen drum on a slim warm cream stem and a small disc base, wide in the shade and narrow everywhere else.

The shade is the whole design: linen panels rolled into half tubes and set side by side so the drum has a scalloped top edge and a vertical shadow between every flute. It sits on a plain painted rod that is deliberately thin, and a shallow disc base that takes up almost no room on a bedside table. Because the drum is open at both ends the light goes up as well as down, which is what stops the shade from feeling heavy on such a slender stand. The cable carries an in-line toggle switch.

Where it works: on a bedside table, a hallway console, or a living room side table.

This is a low-output accent lamp, so buy it for the shape of the shade and put your reading light somewhere else.
