Mand Table Lamp

A wide linen drum sitting directly on a linen wrapped column, so the lamp reads as one continuous fabric shape rather than a shade on a stand.

There is no visible stem. The base is a cylinder covered in the same natural oatmeal linen as the shade, and the drum sits straight on top of it, which is why the silhouette is closer to a mushroom than to a conventional table lamp. Both parts are built over a white powder coated metal frame. The weave is open enough to show its slub texture across the whole surface, and because the base is fabric too it glows faintly along with the shade rather than sitting dark underneath it.

Where it works: on a bedside table, a hallway console, or a living room sideboard where its low, wide shape suits a crowded surface.

A fabric base is the thing to think about. It looks better than a metal one and it marks more easily, so keep it off a kitchen worktop.
