Alborz Wall Light

A single curved panel of natural linen wrapped into a half cylinder against the wall, open top and bottom so the light washes in both directions.

This is about as simple as a wall light gets, and that is the point. One piece of oatmeal linen is curved around a white powder coated frame and fixed flat to the wall, standing proud of the surface. Light leaves through the open ends as two soft cones, up and down, while the fabric itself glows evenly across the front. The weave is coarse enough to show its slub when lit, which stops the shape reading as plain white board.

Where it works: as a bedside wall light, along a hallway or stairwell, or in a living room. Hardwired, so it suits a room already wired for it.

Two things to be clear about: it needs wiring into the wall, and this is a genuinely dim fitting. Buy it as a soft marker on a hallway, not as light to do anything by.
