Sindokht Table Lamp

A tall linen shade folded into rounded scalloped lobes, like a flower seen from the side, on a slim cream stem and a small flat base.

The shade is the piece: a straight sided cylinder in a natural linen, pleated into deep rounded petal folds that run its full height, so the light coming through it is banded rather than even and the outline stays soft from every angle. It sits high on a plain cream painted iron stem thin enough to disappear underneath it, well above eye level when you are seated, which is why it works next to a chair as well as beside a bed. It sits on a compact base relative to its height, so give it a stable surface.

Where it works: on a bedside table, beside a chair in a reading corner, or on a hallway console where its height can be seen.
