The same folded panel in bronze rather than brass, which reads almost black across the flat face and warm brown where the curves catch the light.

The outside of the panel is dark enough to pass for black on a pale wall, and the inside of each curve is where the bronze shows, so the fitting only reveals its colour once it is switched on. That is deliberate and the supplier says as much: the finish is a real bronze on brass rather than a sprayed colour, so it will not chip to a different metal underneath. There is no glass, no diffuser and very little projection, which makes it a corridor fitting as much as a living room one.

Where it works: down a hallway, either side of a living room fireplace, or above a bedroom headboard.
