Lorestan Pendant Light

A soft onion shaped lantern, sand coloured fabric stretched over slim wire ribs, gathered at the top and open at the base. It glows rather than throws.

The ribs run from the collar at the top down over the swell of the shade and tuck under at the bottom, and the fabric is pulled tight between them, so from a distance the shade reads as a single smooth volume while up close it is clearly ribbed. Lit, the fabric turns a warm sand and the ribs show through as fine darker lines. The bottom is open, so some light falls straight down onto a table while the rest diffuses out through the shade. It sits on a matching cream flex.

Where it works: over a living room seating area, above a dining room table, or as a bedside pendant in a bedroom in place of a lamp.

Fabric over wire is easy to dent and hard to push back out, so unpack it carefully. Choose a low output LED bulb until the supplier confirms a limit.
