Zarasp Wall Light

A long tapered brass rod fixed to a small square backplate, hammered along its whole length, with a short clear crystal at the top that is the only part that lights.

The body is solid brass, worked by hand so the surface carries hammered marks and distressed patches rather than an even finish, and it narrows to a point at the bottom. All of that is object rather than light fitting. The crystal at the top is small and clear and sits like a nib, and when the lamp inside it is on it reads as a single bright point at the top of a long dark line. It is a decorative wall piece with a light in it, not a fitting that will do any real work in a room.

Where it works: on a hallway wall, in a living room beside a piece of art, or in a bedroom as a low level accent.
