Binalud Wall Light

A faceted crystal bell held on a curved brass arm, with the lamp visible inside it and a round backplate with a stone inset behind.

The shade is cut crystal with a slight smoke to it, shaped like a bell and open at the bottom so the light drops straight out while the faceted sides catch and throw it sideways. The arm sweeps up from the backplate in a single curve, and the collar where the two meet is dark, which stops the brass reading as one continuous piece. Behind it, the round backplate carries a stone coloured inset that softens what would otherwise be a plain brass disc. The lamp is on show through the crystal.

Where it works: as a bedside pair, along a hallway, or either side of a mirror in a living room.

A candle shaped lamp suits the open bell. Wipe the crystal dry, since the supplier warns cleaners will damage the brass.
