Fereydun Floor Lamp

A slim matt black stem on a weighted disc base, with a smoked grey glass dome angled forward at the top and the lamp left visible inside it.

The head tips forward on a short knurled joint in black chrome, which is the one piece of detailing on an otherwise plain lamp and the reason it reads as made rather than assembled. The shade is a tinted grey glass dome, dark enough to take the hard edge off a filament lamp but clear enough to keep it on show, so the bulb is part of the design. Angled the way it is, most of the light falls forward and down onto a desk or a chair rather than up into the room. It stands tall on a weighted base and hangs on a braided cable with an in line switch.

Where it works: over a desk in a home office, beside a chair in a living room, or in a bedroom corner.

The lamp is visible through the glass, so buy a filament LED you are happy to look at, and keep the output low.
