A smoked grey glass bell hung from a matt black cantilever arm, so the light lands in front of the base rather than around it.

The upright post rises from a small round base and turns through a right angle, holding the shade out over the surface in front of it. That is what makes this useful on a desk: the pool of light falls where you are working rather than behind the lamp. The glass is tinted a soft smoky grey and the lamp stays visible through it, held in a knurled black chrome collar with the same machined ridging used across this family. A black braided cable runs to an in-line switch on the flex, so there is nothing to reach behind. It measures a tall profile on a compact footprint.

Where it works: a home office desk, a living room side table, or a bedroom where a forward throwing lamp beats a shade that lights the ceiling.

This fitting has no dimming function, whatever the tag says. The lamp shows through the glass, so fit a clear filament LED rather than a frosted one.
