Jahrom Flush Ceiling Light

A wide, low ellipse of translucent cream mesh fixed flat to the ceiling, with the frame ribs and the lamp showing faintly through the fabric.

The textured mesh is stretched over a powder coated wire frame and it is deliberately see-through, so the curved ribs read as fine drawn lines across the surface and the lamp sits visible at the centre. Lit, the shade glows an even warm cream with the frame drawn on it in shadow. Unlit, it is a soft flattened sphere and almost nothing else. It fixes straight to the ceiling with no drop at all, sitting high and well clear of anyone walking under it, which is the reason to choose this over the hanging version.

Where it works: over a dining room table, in a living room, or in a bedroom where a pendant would hang too low.
