Rahi Chandelier

An open cage of offset black steel rectangles holds four exposed brass-socketed bulbs in a row, a frame-first fixture that reads as much like a piece of geometric sculpture as a light.

The frame is built from black steel tubes set at slightly offset angles, nested inside each other so the whole fixture reads as an open, three-dimensional cage rather than a flat shape. Four brass bulb holders sit exposed along the lower edge, so the fitting is designed to be seen with a decorative bulb rather than hidden behind a shade. The adjustable pole lets it sit closer to or further from the ceiling depending on the room, and the matt black finish keeps the geometry the focus rather than the metal itself.

Where it works: over a kitchen island, above a dining table, or as the main light in a dining room with a strong architectural table beneath it.
