Four brass arms end in clear glass bubble shades around exposed bulbs, with a fifth bulb left bare at the base of the central stem, a mid-century silhouette built for a room that can take a strong central light.

The frame branches out from a round ceiling canopy into four brass arms, each one capped with a clear glass bubble that exposes rather than hides its bulb, plus a fifth bulb hanging bare at the bottom of the central pole with no shade at all. Lit, the clear glass and open bulb combination reads as a display of the bulbs themselves rather than a diffused wash, closer to a piece of kinetic sculpture than a conventional shade-covered light. It needs a room with some breathing space around a dining table or a wide seating area.

Where it works: over a dining table, in a living room with a high ceiling, or above a kitchen island.
