Five clear glass globes hang on fine cables from a brushed brass bar. Each globe is open at the base, so every lamp shows rather than hides.

The bar is a slim brushed brass rectangle that mounts flat to the ceiling, and five clear glass spheres hang from it on thin cables, each held by a brass fitting through the top of the globe. The glass is clear and every globe is open at the base, so the bulb inside is visible and light leaves through the bottom as well as through the glass. The open base keeps the glare manageable at eye level over a worktop, since light escapes downward rather than concentrating in one hot spot.

Where it works: over a kitchen island or a breakfast bar, or along a dining table where the bar can be centred on the surface below.
