Neyshabur Chandelier

A cluster of ribbed clear glass globes, each one finely fluted rather than smooth, builds into a sphere over the dining table in this chandelier.

The globes here carry a fine vertical ribbing across the glass, a texture the supplier's own description does not mention at all despite calling the shade simply glass. Packed together around a black metal frame, each bubble-shaped globe's ribbed surface catches and breaks the light from six included LED lamps into softer, more textured highlights than a plain clear globe would give. It reads as a proper dining room centrepiece rather than a supporting fixture, and it also suits a large living room.

Where it works: over a dining table, or as the single statement fixture in an open-plan dining and living room space.
