Nariman Table Lamp

A heavy ceramic urn in a chalky distressed white under a wide tapered linen drum shade. It is heavy enough to behave more like furniture than like a lamp.

The base is thrown as a full bellied urn and finished in a textured matt white, rubbed back so the grey clay shows through at the rim and around the foot. It is that wear, rather than the shape, that keeps it from looking new. The shade is a natural oatmeal linen, tapered slightly and wide enough to spread light across a whole console rather than pooling it on one spot. Power is mains with an in line switch on the cable. It is heavy enough to need a surface that can take the weight, and once placed it stays placed.

Where it works: on a hallway console, a living room sideboard, or a dining room side table, anywhere with the depth to take a wide shade.
