Sistan Wall Light

A solid brass tube on a round backplate with a bare lamp at each end, finished in a burnished bronze that reads almost black until the light catches the copper underneath.

The linear bar is solid brass rather than plated steel, so the colour is worked into the metal instead of sprayed onto it and there is no lacquer edge to chip. Burnished bronze takes it down to near black while leaving warm copper in the highlights, which is why it does not read as flat paint. Both lamps sit exposed at the ends of the tube with no shade or diffuser, so the light is low and soft rather than bright, and the lamp you choose is doing all the visible work.

Where it works: as a bedside pair, along a hallway, or in a living room alcove where you want a low warm light rather than a bright one.
