Gulrang Pendant Light

A single cast resin wave, arched end to end, with a rounded light at each tip so the whole piece reads as a sculpture that happens to glow.

The form rises and falls in one continuous curved arch, thick in the middle and tapering to open ends, moulded in a matt cream resin with no seam or joint on show. Hung from two fine cables it sits level and the eye follows the curve rather than looking for a shade. The light comes from the ends rather than from underneath, so what you get is two soft points at the extremities and a large pale shape between them. It is heavier than it looks, so check the ceiling fixing can take a solid cast piece before hanging it.

Where it works: in a living room as a piece of wall to wall sculpture, in a bedroom, or over a dining room sideboard.

• The bulb rating printed by the supplier reads like an old-style figure and is being reconfirmed

Two things we will not guess at: whether it takes one lamp or two, and what the real wattage ceiling is. Both are being confirmed with the supplier.
