Farnak Pendant Light

An open rectangular chrome frame with a band of bevelled crystal bars hung inside it and six candle lamps set behind them.

The frame is polished chrome and deliberately skeletal, four uprights and two rectangles, so the eye goes straight to the crystal. The bars are faceted glass, cut with long flat bevels that split the six lamps into sharp vertical highlights and throw hard little prisms onto the ceiling. Because the frame is open at both ends the fitting stays visually light for its size and does not block a sightline across a room. It is fully height adjustable, so it can sit close under a low ceiling or drop into a stairwell void.

Where it works: over a large dining table, in a stairwell where it is seen from two floors, or in a wide hallway with the height to carry it.

Six lamps are on show through clear glass, so buy six identical clear candle LEDs. This is a heavy fitting that needs a proper ceiling fixing, not a plasterboard anchor.
