Delfan Wall Light

An open cube of polished chrome with bevelled crystal bars set inside it, so a single candle lamp is broken up and thrown back out through a dozen cut edges.

The frame is a plain square of polished chrome, open on every face, which lets the crystal do the work. The bars are bevelled, faceted glass, set vertically in two staggered rows, and each one picks up the lamp behind it and refracts it into thin bands of light along the wall. Unlit it reads as a small sculptural object rather than a fitting. It is substantial for a wall light, so the fixing matters. There is no switch anywhere on it and the supplier lists no cable.

Where it works: along a hallway, either side of a living room fireplace, or in a bedroom where a little sparkle earns its place.
