Hamadan Chandelier

The larger of the two round clusters, close to a metre and a fifth across, hung with solid clear glass teardrops at staggered lengths from a burnished brass plate.

Each drop is thick clear glass, weighted at the base and drawn to a brass cap, so the bottom of every teardrop holds a concentrated point of light. The cables are black fabric and cut to different lengths, which is what gives the cluster depth when it is seen from below or from the side. This is the larger of the two round clusters, and the plate alone will dominate a standard ceiling, so it wants a tall room, a stairwell void, or a dining room with genuine height to give it.

Where it works: over a large dining room table, in a double height hallway, or hung into a stairwell where the full spread can be seen.

Measure the ceiling and the drop before ordering. This plate is unforgiving in a room without height, and the price needs querying against the smaller version.
