Yasaman Wall Light

A fuller glass teardrop with bubbles caught through the base, hung from a rectangular burnished bronze backplate with the lamp on show inside.

Seeded glass carries small trapped bubbles from the blowing process, and here they gather in the thick base of the drop where they catch the lamp and break the light into points instead of one clean lens. The backplate is a flat rectangle of solid brass in a burnished bronze finish, dark enough to read as black, and a short stem holds the shade clear of it. The drop is rounder and fuller than the plain version in the same range, which is the second thing that separates them.

Where it works: as a bedside pair, along a hallway, or on a landing wall where a small amount of texture is welcome.

Bubbles in seeded glass vary from piece to piece, so no two of these will look identical. That is the point, but it is worth knowing before you order a pair.
