Avishan Pendant Light

A drum of clear ribbed glass on a slim chrome stem, bright enough over a dining table and quiet enough to leave in a living room.

The ribbing is drawn vertically down clear glass, so the shade breaks the lamp into fine stripes of light instead of hiding it. The drum is open at the bottom, which sends the working light straight down onto the table while the ribbed wall throws a softer wash sideways onto the ceiling. Canopy, stem and lamp holder are chrome and the flex is clear, so on a pale ceiling the fitting almost disappears and the glass does all the work. Drop height is set at installation to suit the room.

Where it works: over a dining table, in a living room, or above a kitchen island where the drop can be set high enough to clear sightlines.

Clear glass shows whatever bulb you fit, so a decorative filament bulb suits it better than a plain one.
